I’ve gone the Wednesday Sunnyvale Summer Music Series in the past. It’s pretty fun. Small - just the one strip of Murphy Ave. in Downtown Sunnyvale. Music is cool…cover bands hitman. It all starts at 5:30 pm and the music starts @ 6 PM to 8 PM on every Wednesday evenings. A couple of food booths and a lot of the restaurants have outdoor seating. I seated at Firehouse outdoor seating before. You have pretty good view of everything. The beer average is about $4 a cup or you can bring your own chairs and eat outdoors. I usually go to a couple of them each year. See you all tonight there!

Homestead Bowling in Sunnyvale

Posted on 04 May 2009 by gracekeng

homestead bowlingBowling is a sport everyone can enjoy! I recently went to bowl at Homestead Lanes and had a lot of fun, and actually managed to make a couple of strikes. I learned that this is just a matter of picking the right size ball, and aiming right down the middle to hit more pins.  This sport is not only for the young ones. It doesn’t matter that you are young or old, experienced or novice.            Homestead Lanes features 32 new DBA IQ lanes and this one is the only center in the silicon valley to offer Cosmic Bowling, the ultimate bowling experience! The lanes come to life when illuminated by black lights while a laser light show flashes and pulses to the beat of your favorite music videos makes it easy for everyone to have a great time.

They provide bowling balls , shoes, electronic score keeping, great service, and have great prices and fun packages. You can hold a birthday party with the party package, or bowl on Sunday during the special quarter mania where you only pay a quarter per game! I also enjoyed a nice meal of pizza and fries. Yummy! This is a very fun and family oriented place! If you come to play at the Friday night, you may see me there. You can try the QuarterMania on Sundays 25¢ per game on Sunday nights from 9:00PM to midnight ($8.00 admission charge). The photo is credit to www.headsteadlanes.com. Walk-n-Wag at the San Jose Kelley park last Saturday

Posted on 11 October 2008 by gracekeng

Honey - Katherine Li’s dogimg_1460.JPG

October 4, 2008 my daughter & her dog “Honey” invited me to join the annual walk-n-wag at the San Jose Kelley Park. We gathered in the morning at the main square near the fire house lawn. I have never seen so many dogs and owners. We walked the prepared walk Route through Kelley Park. I enjoy the beautiful fall colored foliage and peaceful the Japanese friendship garden. It is funny to see the dog ate the dog treat that is the hot dogs soaked in the water. Those puppies loved it! There is one little cute dog with yellow colored rain coat. Pretty soon we finished the 45 minutes walk. We wondered around the park afterwards. I saw a lot the vendor booths like dog spa, dog food, dog manicuredog photographers and dog Agility Demonstrations. The most funny show is the owners and dogs look alike contest. The last photo is from Robinett photos

Plaza del sol sunnyvale downtown park

Plaza del sol sunnyvale downtown park

Sunnyvle downtown is full of its own history and charm. The Plaza del Sol is run by City of Sunnyvale at 200 West Evelyn . It sits on top of Mathilda Place’s underground garage. This park was the home for a few of Sunnyvale outdoors activities before.

The Mathilda Place project was constructed in 2002 but large portions of the project remained vacant for a few years even now which is six years later. The Mathilda Places was old to JP Morgan Asset Management in 2007.

The Plaza del Sol is a typical city downtown park gives you a green place to breeze some fresh air. After year around Saturday morning farmer market at

Murphy Ave

you can just walk a block to Plaza Del Sol to relax. You may sit on the bench enjoying the beautiful

California blue sky and have a cup coffee. The park can be rented for public usage also. The Plaza del Sol photos are credit to city Sunnyvale web page and the Mathilda Place photo is credit to one of the tenant of Mathilda Place Impac’s image.

Strike Cupertino for bowling

Posted on 21 February 2008 by gracekeng

Cupetino Stike bowlingWhen you tired of raining cold winter days, bowling will be one of great choices for you.

Strike Cupertino has 32 glow in the dark bowling lanes, state of the art audiovisual technology and each semi private banquette has movie screen and lane side food and beverage service. The full service restaurant serves classic American and Asian inspired cuisine, a high-end sports bar, arcade and a giant video wall.Strike Bowling Lanes is located in

Cupertino at the former Vallco Mall, now called Cupertino Mall. It is in the section of the mall that Penny’s Department Store is located at but along the side and back with an outside entrance.

Click the link to view both their food and drink menu.

Cupertino Square,

On Wolfe Road south of 280,

Cupertino, CA

95014 408-252-BOWL (2695)Cost of bowling:
Expect to pay between $5.00 to $10.00 for the bowling plus $5.00 for bowling shoe rental. I can’t provide a firm price on the bowling itself because on the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) they do not offer game pricing, instead you have to rent a lane by the hour and our final shared pricing will be dependent on how many we had on each lane and the amount of time it takes for the group to bowl one game. It’s $35.95 an hour per lane and we can have up to 8 people at each semi private banquette bowling lane. If it takes more then an hour for all the people on the lane to finish the game then Strike prorates the cost so it’s possible to go 90 minutes for example and for the lane to cost around $54.00 or for the group to decide to bowl for 2 hours for around $72.00. If for some reason you are unable to bowl you have the option to sit with the bowlers but again that is limited to 8 even if you aren’t bowling, so the cost of the lane will be split equally by bowler’s and non-bowlers. Please bring cash and at the end once I know our final rate for the lanes pay the your share as we will pay for bowling as a group.
