Protecting Cupertino Union Schools
This morning Phil Quon, Superintendent of Cupertino Union School District, spoke at the SILVAR meeting this morning regard of the Parcel Tax Proposal .
He talked about the what is the measure B will do to the Cupertino Union School District?
The Cupertino union school district gets the lowest funding for all the school districts in Northern California. Durining the on going state budget cuts to education are theartening the local schools. The school district cannot rely on the state government alone to provide the high-quality education that we expect in our school.
Measure B is on a mail in only election ballot that will be mailed to the voters in early April. This $125 annual education parcel tax would provide stable revenue to support teachers and educational programs to continue high student achievement. Measure B will raise approximately $4 Millions a year in revenue for Cupertino Union School District. All funds would stay in the Cupertino Union School District and could not be taken away.
The Measure B will: retain qualified and experienced teachers ensure new teachers are adequately trained and supported. Keep schools safe and clean. Maintain smaller class sizes. Protect high-quality educational programs including science, math, art and music.
You may find more information from the www.greatschoolsyesonB.org
Neal Wooley, Teacher and President of the Cupertino Education Assocation, said : Classroom teachers proudly support Measure B because it will help maintain small class sizes in our elementary and middle schools. this will allow teachers to provide the one-onone instruction that students need to succeed. Please vote YES on Measure B.”

Yesterday I attended the mixer from City of
Cupertino Chamber of Commerce . We met at the Culinary
Center of the Whole Foods in
Cupertino. We saw the chef demonstrate cooking. We enjoied the white and red wines from the
Cooper-Garrod winery of Saratoga. The wines are delious! later on I joined the free tour . We started at the produce section. The tour guide told us the whole foods purchase the fresh, local and organic food which only takes less then 7 hours to deliver to the store. There are beautiful isles of colorful foods. It is just delightful to see them. The next stop is the seafood department. She said the whole foods only sell from the fishermen don’t over fish. The meet and beef looks yummy also.
We went to the bulk department. We tried the fresh peanut butter. It is just delicious! I don’t know that we can ask the the sales to try the foods before we buy it. There are so many free classes in the center. March 7 will has Wine tasting from 1 -4 PM. I found out if you like to learn something, everyday there is either a event or class in the Whole Foods Market. I like the Whole Foods Market!

There is only one Cupertino bank owned single family home for sale on the market.
10071 Peninsula Ave Cupertino, Calif
95014
. It is was orginally listed on October 7th 2008 of asking price $649,000. It is a small 2 bedrooms and 1 bath in a smaller lot about 3300 sf. The current asking price is $522,500. This home belong to the best Cupertino Schools district that means : Steven Creek Elementary, Kenneday Junior high and Monta Vista
High school.
We can compare this single family home with a Cupertino townhouse at 19830 Portal Pz Cupertino. It is a 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths townhouse asking for $555,000. The last one sold in the same complex is more then $600,000.
Nowaday all buyers want to buy good deals. Yes! The buyers only get excited for special deal. There are two rules: the price needs to be low and the home needs good location and condition. Last Friday a buyer saw my blog regarding the Sunnyvale Bank Owned home. He asked me:” Can we negotitate the price of a bank owned home?” My answered is: “ Of course!” Let me tell the history of one Cupertino reo home at
10208 Sterling Blvd Cupertino, California
95014
It is a 3 bedrooms 2 bath home sized around 1108 sf and lot 8208 sf. The backyard can hear the noise of the Lawrence Expressway. It was listed as a bank owned home from October 15 2008 for $674K and then it was dropped to $654,500 and it was sold on December 15 2008 and closed on 12/19/2008 for $650K. The last owner bought this home on June 30 2004 for $540,000. If you look at this
Cupertino home, the price goes up for 20% from mid 2004 to Dec 2008.

San Jose Mercury News reporter Sue McAllister talked to SILVAR members about the challenges of writing about the current real estate market. McAllister, who has been with the Mercury News since 1999, is the go-to writer for the newspaper’s real estate section.
“This is the most interesting 12 to 18-month period in Silicon Valley real estate that I’ve ever covered. It has been really challenging to accurately cover this market.”
When it comes to finding stories to print about real estate, McAllister looks for stories that are timely and affect a great number of people, also they are original. “I get a lot of my best stories from my readers,” McAllister said. “I absolutely welcome those kinds of calls from all of you.”
With the number of stories about foreclosures and declining prices, McAllister has heard many complaints that her headlines are too scary or misleading. However, she encourages people to read the whole story before jumping to conclusions.
McAllister has received a lot of criticism from general readers and the Realtor population, and shared that it is nearly impossible to make everyone happy. An agent asked her why she wrote only negative news. She said: “I really do try to not paint the market with too wide a brush, I have to tell the both sides of the story” she said.
The circulation of the newspaper has gone down in the last two years. In light of this change, However,if we include both print and online media , the number of people reached in 2007 is actually 1.223 million which has gone up.

I specialized love the variety of food. It is so fresh and delicious. They have a lot variety deli, food ready to go. I purchased the food by pound. It is pretty good, because you can pick and choose what cooked food you like. The bakery department is JUST beautiful. The cahiers are friendly also. One hot summer day I went there I saw quiet a few people just slept at the lounge of the whole food market. I guess we like the Whole food Market so much so the day time we slept there. The CEO of the whole Foods market blogs also.
I look at its web page and found out the core value of them. The core value of the whole foods market is :
“Selling the Highest Quality Natural and Organic Products Available Passion For Food We appreciate and celebrate the difference natural and organic products can make in the quality of one’s life. Quality Standards We have high standards and our goal is to sell the highest quality products we possibly can.”
If you change the food to real estate it will become like this: Selling the highest Quality real estate services available Passion for real estate.
